The internet: Everything you ever need to know



Take the long view:
This paragraph talks about how people only look at the short term effects of the internet rather than the long terms effects. Also how people have changed due to what they see on the internet and how they socialise. This paragraph also talks about the history of using the internet and how it is a disadvantage to people.

The web isn't the net:
This paragraph talks about how the web and the net are two completely different things and the way this is explained is by a relation to railways. The internet is the train track and the web pages are traffic such has documents and files. Overall it says the web is very important but the net is far more important.

Distribution is a feature, not a bug:
This paragraph talks about how the internet is being used so much by people that other businesses are decreasing, such as newspaper profits as many people just read the news online rather than in the papers.  Many internet ideas and suprises came from one man Tim Berners Lee in 1991 who put the code on an internet server without permission.

Think ecology not economics:
This paragraph compares the internet to real life creatures such as dinosaurs and to the natural world. It also talks about the growth of the population who used the interent and lastly, looks at the internet as an ecosystem that has become more complex.

Complexity is the new reality:
This paragraph talks about the problems the internet is facing such as too many people using it and solutions to fix this. There has not been any solutions which have been approached which will be a suitable way to decrease the amount of internet users.

The network is now the computer:
This paragraph talks about Cloud Computing. This is where things are internet based and shared through resources and are provided to other devices. Lastly, it talks about how many devices have the internet on it and how easy it is to access it.

The web is changing:
This paragraph talks about the changes in the interenet. It talks about how the interent was web 1.0, then it went to web 2.0 and soon to be web 3.0. This web is so much more advanced and has so much more then it did with web 1.0. The interent is no longer just a publication meduim.

Huxley and Orwell are the book ends of our future:
This paragraph talks about Huxley and Orwell and there view to the internet.
